I'm a college sophomore, and I have decided to uphold the Pledge of Allegiance I first made in kindergarten. I didn't know what I was saying back then, but now I understand its importance and I want to uphold its words. I've grown tired of complaints. It's time for action. Just under an hour ago, I began sending this message to Facebook groups, and I will be sending it to alternative news websites and blogs in a moment. I need as much help as I can get, because I have no experience in organizing marches; I've never even held a protest sign.
To anyone who considers themselves Patriotic,
I have grown tired of complaining. Complaining is what we do when we are too lazy to take action. And at this point, we are in dire need of action. I have taken the Pledge of Allegiance, and now I am going to uphold that pledge.
Everyone complains, but complaining does nothing. The longer we wait to act, the harder it will be to act later, when we have even less of our rights.
"There are more instances of the abridgement of the freedom of the people by the gradual and silent encroachment of those in power, than by violent and sudden usurpation."
-- James Madison
If you are dissatisfied, do something about it. It's our duty to protect the unalienable rights that we are allowing the government to take from us. They won't arrest 2,000,000 people.
"The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it always to be kept alive."
-Thomas Jefferson
I want at least 2 million people to come en masse to the capital city of our glorious country and show our righteous fury. Peacefully, mind you. I will encourage everyone to wear red, white, and blue to show our Patriotism. And, of course, to bring cameras and camera phones to document any violence the Police might bring.
"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
-Benjamin Franklin
We mustn't wait until things get worse. We mustn't wait until it's too late. It's going to take courage, but things will change if we come together.
This is important beyond description. It doesn't matter what god you believe in, what sex you prefer, what race you are, what your age is, what your place in society is, or what political party you identify with. This is bigger than any of that.
Our Founding Fathers are rolling in their graves; the ideals and laws they based our nation on are being trampled upon! If you have any interest in helping me, any interest in showing that you love the country you live in, and if you are fed up with the lying tyrants that are raping our Constitution and usurping our civil liberties and rights, then join me!
Don't be afraid of the government. The government must be afraid of us!
"A little rebellion now and then...is a medicine necessary for the sound health of government."
-Thomas Jefferson
